Took a mini trip this past weekend. Stayed at a nice lodge (til Sat.night - then a bunch'o drunks from a wedding reception ruined our night sleep.) Took a boat trip. Road a train. Drove through a 60,000 acre bird sanctuary. Ate some awesome food. Met some really interesting people. Took a bunch of pictures. Played Mini Golf. Did some swimming. Walked alot. Heard an amazing sermon on the Fifth Commandment.
Coming home was a bit of a let down. The dishes weren't done. The table was covered in Oldest Son's stuff. The leaky faucet had been left on all weekend. A squirrel had drowned in the swimming pool. The air conditioner was on AT 60 DEGREES!
But, the dog was alive. The rabbit had been fed. The turtle was still buried. The bird still had seed left.
Lessons learned: God IS good all the time! This was a fabulous weekend for doing Autumn stuff. OS is NOT ready to live on his own.
As for me, I taught my children how to pray - "You better pray that stain comes out of the carpet!"
