My husband took a 10% cut in pay. The teachers want a 3% raise. Our property value went down 5% (or more!). The school district wants a 8.25% increase in taxes to make up for the $2.7 million the state cut out. Oh, did I mention that a referendum that PASSED out of stupidity (my opinion) will start collecting this year to pay for a school building that already is too small. Silly me. There is also the money not yet "found" to continue to pay the operating costs on this new school.
